100 Doors Review

On October 16, 2012

Shiver me timbers! Yer favorite app reviewing pirate is back. And me and the crew of the good ole Jolly Rogers have got the perfect mobile game to keep you at your wits ends and very much excited to open and play. See for a pirate like me, the unknown is like me name day’s gift. That is how I feel when I am facing a door that leads to a place I do not know. I remember when I was just a little pirate with my wooden sword. I would be so excited with my little pirate gifts. Anyway mateys, there is a new game that gives me a new high and that mobile game app is called 100 doors. Here is my review for this cool new game.

What is in a Game?

All right now land lubbers. You might be wondering what kind of a mobile game app 100 doors is. Is it a carpentry game? Or interior designer’s dream game? Well this mobile game is neither. To be plain and simple about it, the mobile game app 100 doors is a modern take on the puzzle genre. This type of game genre started out as the putting together of inference pieces to complete a bigger picture. A literal take on that is the jigsaw puzzle. As the years went by and more game innovations later, we have arrived at this point where a puzzle is more than just a jigsaw puzzle. It has become one of the hottest mobile game apps in the touch screen platform. 100 doors is a game that challenges players to piece together subtle clues to open the door in front and then to proceed to the next floor. Clues are all over the pictures and are waiting for you. The game may sound very simplistic to some. But in reality, for a game to be a big hit, there must be an element that makes it very easy to learn and play. But despite that, there must be an element that makes it hard to beat. The game 100 doors has a very simple premise but is also a hell of a lot challenging. This mix of two winning elements makes the game, from the concept level, already very interesting.

How to Play 100 Doors?

So did you get the hang of it yet matey? Not yet? And yer asking for an explanation on how to play it? Well all right here goes. The game is no straight out detective mystery solver type. There are no characters and no plotlines. It is just a simple, look for a clue, solve the puzzle and move on to the next floor. And you do that by making good use of your mobile device. You see, the makers of 100 doors wanted to make good use of the physics technology and the touch screen features of modern day mobile devices. This is done this way, so that you can be creative in solving the puzzles. The range of motions included in the game are touching the screen, holding the screen part, tilting the mobile device, shaking the mobile device and even just letting it stay still on a flat surface. Now that is what this pirate calls maximized game play. The idea of making use of the many physics based feature of the mobile devices make it seem like every level is different and feel like a puzzle you have not gone through before.

Glued on Clues

The key to beating the game is to look at the clues present all over the game. There are clues that are pretty obvious. For example, the door design is like an Egyptian eye pattern. And when you move it up and down, the eye opens. There are some that are really obscure that it will keep you stuck on that door for days at a time.

100 Doors is a very fun game to play. It may come off as simple but the puzzle on each floor adds a fresh breathe of life every time.
