Gruesomely Nice Graphics

Since it’s a criminal case investigation game, you would be dealing with various crimes committed, including murders. Expect to see blood, mutilated body parts and dead bodies. It’s just right that it has a warning that it’s only for players who are 13 years old and up as it wouldn’t be appropriate for little kids to see these images. On the other hand, while there are gruesome images, the pictures and the crime scenes are well done in general. You’re investigating criminal cases and in reality you would experience such things so it’s just expected in this kind of game. They are not photos of real people so it’s still something that even those with weak stomach can handle.

More Than Just Your Ordinary HOG

It’s a hidden object game like Mystery P.I., but it has more to offer than just finding specific objects in the crime scene. You would feel like you’re really investigating a real crime as autopsy must be made and other procedures that are done in real life crime investigation. There are also puzzle games that are smartly included in the process. In the end, you need to arrest the right person from the suspects base on the clues that you’ve found. Energy and stars are used throughout the investigation, which may force you to pause or stop playing until you have the needed stars or energy. The progress can be a little slow at first, although they can be speed up through in-app purchase.

Criminal Case gives you the feel that you’re solving a real crime. You’re not just finding hidden objects, but you’re collecting evidences that would give you clues to determine the identity of the criminal. The graphics is also good and it has lots of content to uncover. It also allows customization of your avatar, which is an extra added fun.

It’s difficult to advance in the game at first; especially you only have limited stars and energy. Every action that you make would require energy and others even stars. While you would be rewarded after completing a task, you may still end up with not having enough energy and stars to proceed with the investigation, which may force you to wait, get help from friends or make an in-app purchase.

The Verdict

Criminal Case has a good content and it’s really an engaging game, especially if you’re really into crime investigations. It could be a bit frustrating that you want to continuously play but have to pause for a while as some processes may take some time to finish or you may easily run out of the energy and stars that you need. If you can put up with that, then this is something that’s really interesting.
