Ahoy me hearties! When I was a young lad, this buccaneer used to have a diary that I write on every day. I still have it with me and I still read it at times, which brings smile in me face. Speaking of diary, this app that I will share with ye buckos is called Dear Diary – Interactive Story. Splice the mainbrace as we begin this app review.

It’s Interactive

Dear Diary - Interactive Story Review

As the title suggests, this app is an interactive diary. You get to read the entries of the diary, which is by the way written by Anna Blake. It’s not your usual app as you wouldn’t just be reading the entries, but you get to decide which Anna would choose on various scenarios. What makes this exciting is that every choice you make has a different outcome. This means that the story has different endings, depending on the choices that you make, which is what happens in real life. It imitates life as what happens next would depend on what you do today. Don’t worry if you didn’t like the outcome as you can always repeat the game if you wish to make changes on the choices that you have already made. While this is just an app, it could also give you the realization that in real life, the things that you’ve made cannot be undone and that every decision you make has corresponding consequences.

Cute Graphics

When it comes to the graphics area, it’s attractive, but it’s something that may be more appealing to girls. The main character in the game is a girl so it’s just natural that the diary would be girly. The text on the diary itself can be read clearly. There are doodles or drawings in the entries that add to the fun, which is certainly a plus.

The Good

One of the good things about Dear Diary – Interactive Story is that it serves as a double purpose app. It lets you follow the story of Anna and it also serves as a game at the same time by allowing you to make decisions on various situations. What’s nice about it is that it’s like you’re also given the chance to become part of creating the story in the diary.

The Bad

The app is actually interesting in general. However, the only drawback that I see is that it takes a long time before you can move to the next entry. You can only read one entry per day, which means you would need to wait for 24 hours before you can read the next one. While you can unlock the next entry with a key, you only have three free ones. Once they are all used, you need to make an in-app purchase if you wish to have more.

The Verdict

Those who love reading stories would find this app interesting. It’s like reading a novel or watching a TV series but you get to have a say on what happens next based on the choices you make. The drawback, which is being able to read only one entry a day isn’t too bad and it’s would be something that you can live with. That being said, you should give this app a try.
