Yo, ho, ho and bottle of rum! Ahoy there me mateys! See me and the crew just got from this island that we explored for booties. We didn’t just find golds and other treasures but we also found gnomes! Aye, they are real. No, I am not drunk, but aye, I drank a couple of bottles or rum or so. Anyways, that reminds of this app that had a gnome as its main character. The game is called Geki Yaba Runner and let me tell ye more about it me lads and lasses in this review. So batten down the hatches and avast ye as we’ll now begin.

Gorgeous Graphics

Geki Yaba Runner App

Chillingo is known for creating apps with amazing graphics like Incredible Jack and Spider Jack. They didn’t disappoint in Geki Yaba Runner as the graphics in the game is rich, vibrant and it’s pleasant in the eyes. The first thing that you’ll see after verifying your age is what looks like a gnome village where the levels of the game are placed. Each time you complete a level you go back to this and you could choose to play the next level or replay the previous ones to get a better score.

The green field, castle, mushrooms and gnome homes were all designed well. Although it’s cartoonish and you would think that it would only be attractive on children, it’s actually relaxing in the eyes and you’ll appreciate it even if you’re already an adult. The same is true with settings in the different levels. What’s cool about it is that you’ll get a different environment on the different levels giving it variation, which prevents it from being boring.

Fun Sounds and Background Music

The adorable graphics complements the fun music giving an amazing playing experience. The background music when you play is upbeat that makes the game more exciting and it gives you the adrenalin rush, especially on the more challenging levels. There are also sound effects when you collect socks and when your gnome dies.

Levels are Shorter

Geki Yaba Runner Game

There are hundreds of levels to complete in this game. The first few ones are easier to finish and they would basically teach you the basic gameplay. The levels are shorter than the usual games of the same genre so the levels are quicker to complete, except of course if you die and you have to repeat them, which would possibly be the case on the difficult levels.

The Good

Geki Yaba Runner has gorgeous graphics and fun music that would make the game more enjoyable. Levels are also shorter so you wouldn’t easily get bored as it would quicker to finish the first few ones. There are difficult levels too, which makes it challenging.

The Bad

The only drawback that we see in this game is that it comes with an advertisement, although it’s forgivable since it’s free.

The Verdict

Geki Yaba Runner is a fun game to play. It’s simple yet challenging and you wouldn’t get easily bored since the levels are shorter so you get to move at the next ones as long as you were able to complete the previous levels.
