Music & Beat (O2Jam) Review

On May 5, 2016

Ahoy there me landlubber friends! Yer friendly app pirate is here again back from another adventure from the seven seas. Aside from the booties that we found at the bottom of the ocean and the islands that we explored, I’m also bringing another app that I will share with ye. It’s called Music & Beat (O2Jam) from Mobirix. It’s a rhythm game that you may have already played on your video console or in the arcade. Me and the crew compete who gets the best score. Avast ye and let me tell ye more about it in this review.

Various Skins Available

Music and Beat Game

The graphics of Music & Beat (O2Jam) is eye catching. You also unlock skins as you get combos or go to fever mode. This makes the game more interesting and exciting as not only would you see more themes or background, but you would also feel challenged to unlock more. There are flower theme, Chinese theme, digital theme and more.

Different Songs to Choose From

This app comes with hundreds of songs, although not all of them are instantly available. You would unlock more songs as you get to higher levels. As a freemium game, in-app purchases are also available that would let you get more songs earlier. Some apps that has the same gameplay as this allow players to use their own songs on their device, but not this one. You could only choose from the ones available on the app itself.

Available Both Online and Offline

Music and Beat App

This is an online game that would let you play with other players around the world, as well as unlock more content as you move forward and unlock more levels. What’s good is that it also has an offline feature that lets you play even when you’re not connected to the Internet. You could have fun and at the same time enhance your skills through practice while offline, anytime, anywhere.

Compete with Other Players

Aside from comparing your levels and scores with other players, you could also invite a player from anywhere in the world for a one on one game with you. You would be playing a random song together and see who does better.

The Good

This game is free and although in-app purchase is available, you wouldn’t feel forced to make a purchase since you could easily unlock more songs as you level up. Plus, leveling up gives you that sense of challenge and excitement. The graphics is also great and music plays well. There are some who reports that they experience that music is lost, but this doesn’t happen to majority of users.

The Bad

One drawback is that you can’t use your own music, which is something that other similar apps offer. Unlocking skins or themes can also be difficult, especially if you’re just starting as you would need to be in fever mode for this.

The Verdict

Music & Beat (O2Jam) has its share of drawbacks, but it can’t be denied that it’s a fun and exciting game to play. With it being free and enjoyable, it’s highly recommended that you give it a try.
