Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum! When I was a little lad, I enjoyed playing video games. One of me favorite was Sonic the Hedgehog. Aye, I didn’t have me parrot friend yet back then, so this hedgehog was me favorite. That’s why when I bumped into this app called Sonic Dash from Sega, it made me feel excited as it brought me back to the years when I was still a kid. If ye lads and lasses know about the said video game or Sonic’s animated series and comics, ye too will feel excited. Avast ye as it’s time to begin the review.

The Game is Familiar

Sonic Dash App

There’s a big chance that you are familiar with Sonic the Hedgehog, which is the main character in a video game, animated series and comics. If you know Sonic, that alone would already make this game feel interesting because there’s that sense of familiarity. Plus, it’s nice to see something that you’ve known when you were younger to be on a game that you can play on your smartphone or tablet.

Upbeat Music and Nice Graphics

Even those who are not familiar with Sonic may still find themselves interested in the game. It’s made with 3D graphics, which can compete on the latest games available today. The color is vibrant and although there are only two backgrounds, it could still catch your eyes. The grasses on the road look lush and the ocean is beautiful with its blue color. Another thing that could add up to the excitement of the game is its background music. It’s upbeat and if you listen to it well, you would feel like you’re in some kind of an adventure, which is true, since this game can also be considered as an adventure.

An Endless Runner with a Twist

Sonic Dash Game

You have probably played endless runners before since this genre is one of the most played. Think Temple Run and Subway Surfers. The basic gameplay is generally the same, which is to run as far as you can while collecting rings, stars and power ups along the way and preventing various obstacles. What makes it different is that you would face boss battles. There are also missions to complete that would give you achievements.

It’s Free and It’s Fun

Sonic Dash can be downloaded for free, although the in-app purchases can be expensive as one purchase could reach up to $49.99. However, it’s still up to you if you want to make a purchase or not. This is a fun game and it could be addictive. Many endless runners have proven this.

The Ups

The app is free to download and it’s fun. It would bring your happy memories if you’re familiar with Sonic. The music is lively and the 3D graphics is good. There are also achievements to unlock.

The Downs

The in-app purchase can be expensive. There are also video ads that could disrupt the game.

The Verdict

Regardless of its few drawbacks, Sonic Dash is still a nice game to add on your list. It’s free, fun and addictive.
