Wimp: Who Stole My Pants Review

On February 4, 2013

Who stole me pantaloons?!? When I get me hands on your scrawny neck ya little rascal ya, I will wring it like ya mama wrings yer laundry!

Oh, didn’t see ya there. Sorry about me cursin’, it is just that this little wimp of a boy, me nephew, stole me pantaloons while I be doin’ me business, if you know what I be meaning. Aye, it seems that the rascal thought it would be mighty funny. I swear that I should have never downloaded the Wimp : who stole my pants into me iPad. Me thinks he got this funny idea from the game. Just ya wait til’ I get me hands on him, I will teach him a nice a lesson he will never forget.

So, Wimp: Who Stole My Pants… seems like a game straight of a Simpsons episode. You can just imagine Bart stealing Homer’s pants. A funny image, aye? However, in the actual mobile game playable on any iOS device, your character is some weird gelatinous ball, all gooey and stuff. The ball can bounce, stick, and pretty much do anything a gelatinous ball can do.

The Mission

Alright, so you play some goo ball of sorts. But, what is your mission. Well, the story has a simple outline – your underpants have been stolen and your mission is to find who stole it and recover your ever so precious soiled undies.

Along the way, you will be privy to the world of Wimp, which is primarily composed of a seemingly endless amounts of platforms and traps to traverse, circumvent, and avoid all divided into 60 fun-filled and challenging levels.

The Humor

The game is filled with all kinds of toilet antics, from sewage infested levels to toilet paper rolls, which you can earn by solving the puzzles you encounter. On each level, you will be required to collect 3 toilet paper rolls in order to move forward. As you play on, your character, aye the goo, acquires certain powers or skills, if you will, such as being able to stick on surfaces, bounce higher than usual, and even turn into a flaming ball of goo. Interesting or outright weird? Maybe a bit of both.

The Visuals

While some people may find the whole toilet humor wrapped around the game a bit disgusting, especially for the overly squeamish, many gamers will find the visuals phenomenal for a platformer. The app is colorful, sharp, and crisp in everything. The world is designed well, allowing players a variety of landscapes and backgrounds to explore.

The Gameplay

Wimp: Who Stole My Pants is a terribly challenging platformer. This is because the design of each level is impeccable. The game is littered with a variety of different platforms, from sticky and fluffy to outward rusty and solid. Each jump, bounce, stick, of your character must be planned out perfectly to ensure completion of each level. And, before I forget, like every game, each level you go through presents a more difficult challenge.

The Bottomline

Wimp: Who Stole My Pants is a wonderful addition to any simple-minded gamer’s suite of apps. It is fun to play, has a free-to-play version (although, the paid and HD versions at $0.99 and $2.99 respectively are better options), and has pretty decent visuals. Now, the only drawback on this app will depend on your aversion to toilet humor, if you have one of course.
