Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum! Ahoy me lads and lasses. Yer friendly app pirate is here again ready to share with ye another app that I found while sailing the seven seas. The app that I will share with ye today is called Fishing Break. Aye, ye know how this old salt likes fishing. When not doing anything in the good old Jolly Roger, one of me hobbies is fishing. We cook and eat them as the crew and I go merry while drinking rum, getting drunk. This game got me interest because it reminded me of me fishing hobby, Avast ye and let’s begin with the review.

Colorful Fishes, Gorgeous Worlds

Fishing Break App

Fishing break has colorful and vibrant graphics, which is relaxing to the eyes. It’s not realistic as other fishing games, but it’s good in its own right. It’s cartoonish but at the same time, the details would blow you away. There are hundreds of different fishes to catch. Plus, you’re not just limited to one setting, as there are different worlds that you could unlock, giving you a different location. These locations do not just give you new surroundings, but bigger and stronger fishes, requiring you to upgrade your gears and equipment. These things add to the variety of the game, so while it’s mainly all about fishing, there are other factors that make it more interesting.

Simple But Challenging

Like most fishing games, this one doesn’t need much learning period as it’s simple to learn. It has a very basic gameplay, which is to catch fish. However, it still is challenging because as mentioned, there stronger and bigger fishes in the ocean that may snap your fishing gear if you don’t let go. On the other hand, letting go means a wasted bait, which you purchased using the coins you earn. So you wouldn’t just be casting your lure and expect to easily catch a fish as you also need to determine which fishes you could really catch with your gear.

Comes With Different Features

Fishing Break Game

Aside from fishing to earn coins and level up to unlock more worlds, items and gears, there are also missions that you need to complete, as well as achievements to unlock. Since it comes with a leaderboard, you could compete with your friends and other players to see who is the best player in the game. This app is available for free, although it offers in-app purchases that you could use in case you wish to unlock items sooner. However, you’re not forced to do this as you could still unlock these items even while playing for free.

The Good

It’s simple to play so users of all levels would not have difficulties playing it. Although easy to learn, it still is challenging, which makes it interesting. The graphics is also good and the different worlds, fishes and gears add variety to the game.

The Bad

Like other free to play games, Fishing Break also comes with advertisements that could be distractive.

The Verdict

Although it has ads, it’s still a nice app to try since the graphics are eye catching and it’s also relaxing. The in-app purchase is optional so you could keep playing the game without spending anything.

Fishing is one of my favourite pastimes and this game actually depicts this activity pretty well! It would have been better with some 3D graphics, but I suppose that this is a good way to introduce fishing to the younger folks. I would have given it a 3/5 star rating, but you seem to love the game and that’s fair enough!
