Fruit Bump Review

On October 12, 2015

Yo-ho-ho and a bottle full of rum! Yer favorite app pirate is back aboard his Jolly Rogers and about to make sail. This old salt and me crew are up for another booty hunting adventure. But afore we hop on me ship, I would share with ye me lads and lasses a review for an app. It’s called Fruit Bump. Avast ye me hearties as we begin.

Easy to Learn

Fruit Pump App

Fruit Bump is a match three puzzle game that has a similar gameplay to other apps under the same genre like Jewel Quest and Candy Crush Saga. If you have played these games before, you would be instantly familiar on how this app is played. However, if you haven’t played any of them before, that wouldn’t be a problem since it’s pretty easy to understand. Matching at least three of the same fruits on the board will remove them and add points to your score. Some levels have limited moves, while others have time limits for you to achieve the goal. While it’s true that the basic gameplay is easy to learn, the levels can get challenging, especially the higher ones.

Fun Graphics

Fruit Pump Review

This app has colorful graphics. The main screen where the options are is eye catching. The light blue sky, green mountains, beautiful followers and bright colored fruits are fantastic in the eyes. It’s also fun how the matched fruits turn into a pitcher or glass of fruit juice when more than three are matched. Although the basic gameplay is the same for all levels, as mentioned, the difficulty level changes. Plus, there are three different chapters that have varying themes. Green forest has a lush refreshing background, Ghost Town is spooky and Blue Ocean has an ocean theme.

Hundreds of Levels to Unlock

As of this writing, there are 620 levels to unlock in the game, which is a lot of content. This is something that would keep you occupied for a long time, especially during downtime. You can move to the next level once you completed the level prior to it. Every level would give you up to three stars depending on

your score. The good thing about this is that you can go back to the unlocked levels and play again in case you want to get all three stars.

The Good

Other match three games like Candy Crush Saga give you limited lives. Once all lives are used, you would need to wait for a certain period before you can play again. Fruit Bump would let you play anytime you want, as long as you want as there’s no life limit. While it also comes with in-app purchases, they are

completely optional. You will not feel that you’re forced to use them. You can continue playing the app without spending anything.

The Bad

You may be asked to review or rate the game every now and then. This is really not a huge drawback especially you have unlimited life.

The Verdict

Fruit Bump is a fun app that would keep you occupied. With the levels getting more and more challenging, you will not get easily bored playing this app. It’s free and it’s enjoyable so if you’re into match three puzzle games, you should give this one a try.

I was about to complain about the gameplay, but you then mentioned how they actually monetised the app and I was pretty satisfied by that. It’s indeed rare to see a match-3 game adopt such a strategy and this proves that the developer isn’t out there to cash in! Nice post here!
