Hay Day Review

On March 29, 2013

Well, ahoy there fella. It appears ye caught me playing another app on me iOS device. This game is called Hay Day. Ye see, this pirate wanted to become a farmer when I was a kid. Tis’ why I love playing farm games like this one. But tis’ not your ordinary farm game. This is so much better. This I swear in the name of ol’ Calypso.

This game was developed by Supercell and it’s available for free. If you are into farm games like Farmville, you’ll love this one even more. It has a different take on the usual farming apps around.

The Basics

Like other farm apps, you will manage an old farm to make it modern and successful again. Take care of producing livestock like chickens, cows, pigs, goats and sheep. There are also non-producing animals that you can get like dogs, cats and horses. Farm and grow crops like wheat, corn, carrot and different fruits. These can be purchased using coins, which is the main currency of the game. The premium currency, which is diamonds, can be used for making processes faster.

There are various buildings that you can purchase, which you will need for earning coins. Unlike regular farming games, you will not get coins for harvesting on your farm but instead you can sell your produce or use them to make different new products that you can sell like bread, muffins, feeds, cheese, flour, pies and more. This is more realistic as this is what you need to do to earn in the real world. Items and products that you want to sell can be displayed on the road side store for your Facebook friends to see. You may also advertise them so everyone playing the app would be notified. You will need specific buildings for creating new products.

Specific ingredients are also needed, which you must have on your storage. These ingredients can be from your produce. If you do not have a certain ingredient and you do not want to grow it on your farm, another option is to purchase it from another player. For instance, to make bread, you need to have a bakery building and three wheats as ingredients.

Money Matters

As mentioned, the gold coins are the main currency of the game, which you earn from selling items and which you can use for purchasing the things that you need. Diamonds are premium currency, which can be used to speed up processes like growing crops or making products. You will be given 30 gems when you start the game. Hay Day App

Completing achievements will let you earn more of these. Both coins and gems are available for in-app purchase. Another currency for this game is the voucher. This becomes available upon reaching level 20. You can earn vouchers for completing boat orders, as well as orders for special metal bars. Use them for purchasing pets and other items that can’t be purchased by coins.

The Verdict

This is one of the best farm games that you can get. It gives you a real feel of the farm life, from farming to selling of produce. It also allows interaction with Facebook friends though not from Game Center. Hearing real sounds of the animals in your farm adds more fun. The graphics is also crystal clear. There is no offline version of this game, so you must be connected to WiFi or 3G to play.

    My only comment is:
it is real fun but at the same time very frustrating due to repeated messages ‘connection lost, server not responding’. Half the time we have to repeat doing what we did before. Feel like to delete the apps completely.

Why can’t somebody fix these issues in the next update once and for all?

  2. I used to buy resources in Hay Day a few days ago, but recently I discovered a tool that can give you unlimited diamonds and coins for free.Grab them from right here: goo. gl/VcvILG
