Games that have something to do with islands are always close to me heart. Aye! Ye all know how yer friendly app pirate enjoy booty hunting on various islands. This new review is about the app called Paradise Bay. I’ve been playing this for the past weeks and I want to share me experience with ye me lads and lasses. Batten down the hatches as we begin with the review.

It’s Something Familiar

Paradise Bay App

This is King’s first try outside their usual puzzle games. Paradise Bay is a simulation game that lets you rebuild the paradise bay, make it grow and thrive. This can be done by trading, planting and building. It’s somewhat a combination of the games Farmville and Paradise Island. Like these games, you get to unlock more items as you progress in this app. Building and planting takes a specific amount of time to complete. Early on in the game, everything happens fast and it wouldn’t take a lot of time to build and get the items that you want. However, it gets difficult and frustrating in the higher levels. It’s challenging to unlock items and complete tasks since it’s hard to find the things that you need. This also makes it a hassle to maintain the paradise bay and keep it looking good.

Vibrant Graphics

Paradise Bay Review

King is known for creating gorgeous graphics on their apps. They didn’t fail to deliver this in Paradise Bay. The colors are rich and vibrant and they are a treat to the eyes. They still have that cartoon feel instead of the more realistic graphics that other apps offer. Nonetheless, the app looks good.

Keeps You Occupied

The game would keep you occupied for quite some time until you get to the higher levels. The time for buildings to complete take longer and as mentioned, it could be difficult to get the items that you need. Later in the game, you would find yourself just checking in every now and then to see if the process has already been completed. You may no longer be as focused on it as you did before since there’s really not much that you can do but wait, unless of course you decide to make everything faster through in-app purchases. Making an in-app purchase is an option, but you can still continue playing the game without purchasing anything.

Thumbs Up

I’ll give the game two thumbs up for the beautiful graphics. The blue ocean and green trees and grasses are just refreshing to the eyes. It’s user friendly making it easy to understand, especially if you’re already familiar with similar simulation games. The game is also fast paced on the first levels, making it easy to build your paradise bay.

Thumbs Down

The drawback is that it gets difficult on the higher levels to get the things that you need and unlock new items to progress in the game. The time it takes to complete building and planting is also longer.

The Verdict

Paradise Bay is a nice simulation game that would keep you occupied for the first few levels, although you’ll probably find yourself using it less often after some time. Nevertheless, it’s still a good app to try, especially it comes for free.

This is crazy! I never knew that King had this planned out! Paradise Bay looks amazing and I need to admit that I really like the fact that it’s featuring a Dodo!! It’s one of my favourite birds ever, it’s just sad that it’s extinct! So yeah, a world building game from King! I am pretty impressed and will definitely be trying it out soon. Keep posting!
