Muffin Knight Review

Aaarggghhh! This pirate’s little fingers are achin’ all because of this Muffin Knight app. Have ye tried it? It be a really good app except that ye lads fingers would be aching as you will find it hard to put it down just like me. Me parrot got angry ‘cause this old buccaneer forgets to feed him when playing.

This app was created by Angry Mob Games, which is the same developer that brought Guerilla Bob. You might think that this game is just for kids because of its cute graphics. But you’re wrong! This game is exciting, challenging and enjoyable even for adults.

The Basics

Play the role of a little boy that found a delicious basket of muffins on his way home. But when he was about to touch them, they started to fly everywhere leaving the basket empty. The fairy who owns the muffins will turn you into a knight and give you the mission to collect all the muffins that were lost.

Choose between single player or multiplayer mode. The single player mode will let you complete the levels on your own. In the multiplayer mode, you can play with or against another player. If you choose to play with another player, you will be given different colors of muffins to collect while completing the adventure together. If you choose to play with another player, you will compete with each other and see which one collects the most number of muffins.

The Game

You will face different kinds of enemies on each level. Some of them are goats, pigs, monsters, bats, rats, turtles, wolf, crow, gremlin and skulls. Avoid touching the enemies and falling on the pit to stay in the game. You will be given specific number of muffins to collect on each level so you can move to the next one. However, when you touch the muffin, your character will change into a different character.

There are 18 characters to unlock, each with their own skills. You may upgrade them using the points that you earn on each level to make them more powerful. Some of these characters are unicorn, yeti, mage, grizzly, Mr. Rainbow, monkey and dragon.

Modes and Levels

There are five modes in the game. The first mode is the Knight Mode, which is the basic stage. Complete this stage and take down the Lava Lord, which is the boss on the app, to unlock the next mode. You can play any of the modes that you unlocked. The modes become more difficult and require more muffins. After the Knight Mode, the next modes would be the Prince, King, Dark Lord and Emperor. There are 9 levels to complete on each mode before you can unlock the next mode. They are Bridge, Forest, Graveyard, Windmill, Castle, Ghost Town, Santa Ville, Lava Land and Beanstalk.

Verdict

Overall, this is an exciting game to play. The graphics are cartoonish but crisp and clear. The background, as well as the enemies changes on each level so you will not feel bored even if playing for a long time. The sound also works well on the game. There are several levels and modes, which become more difficult so you will find it challenging.
