Aye, this buccaneer also misses his childhood. I would always play games with me fellas and one of our favorites was Tetris. Recently, me found this app that reminded of that game. ‘Tis called 99 Bricks Wizard Academy, which me tell more about in this review.
It’s Tetris with a Twist
If you’ve played Tetris before, which you probably did, the bricks on the app would look familiar because they are similar to the ones used on the said game. You can also rotate and move them to the direction where you wish for them to land. You still need to match the bricks as much as possible. While matching a layer of bricks on Tetris would eliminate the line, in this game, it would make your tower stronger; because unlike Tetris, your goal is to make your tower as high as you can. You need to have a strong structure for this because the bricks could fall and if you had a total of three fallen bricks, it means game over. You’ll get power ups and help from friendly Wizards along the game, but beware as there are also bad wizards that could make it more difficult to build a tower.
Cute Graphics
The characters, background and images on this game are just adorable! The graphics is an eye candy, making you want to play the game the first time you see it. The bricks are colorful and the wizards are cute. It’s cartoonish but it adds to the playfulness of the game. Unless you love gore images, you would love how this game looks.
Playful Sound
Its upbeat music would make you feel awake and give you that excitement to play the app. The sound effects when the blocks are dropped, when you earned coins or you reached a certain level make it more fun to play.
The Good
99 Bricks Wizard Academy is free to play and it gives a nice twist to the classic and popular Tetris game. The sound and graphics are a great combination for a fun play. It’s a simple game, but it could keep you occupied for hours as you would feel that desire to do better and reach higher. It’s also challenging as you are not just trying to match bricks but you need to consider gravity and the other obstacles brought by the evil wizards.
The Bad
While it comes with a twist, it could still get repetitive after a long time of playing since you just have the same gameplay. It could just get harder as the game becomes faster, but nonetheless, you’ll have the same background and the same goal, which is to reach as high as you can.
The Verdict
The good sides of 99 Bricks Wizard Academy outweigh its drawback, thus, making it a good application to add on your list. Yes, it can get repetitive after a long time, just like other apps. However, it would certainly keep you occupied and excited for quite some time.
