Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum! It’s me again, yer friendly app pirate back from another amazing adventure, booty hunting down Davey Jones’ locker and around the seven seas. When we’re on the ship heading to our next spot for treasure seeking, ye would typically find me and the crew all eyes on our mobile devices and I bet ye buckos know what we’re doing; aye, we’re playing different games! Speaking of games, there’s this one that I would like to share with ye lads and lasses. It’s called Hungry Babies Mania and it’s a match three game from Storm8 Studios. Avast ye and let’s begin with the review.
It’s Familiar, Yet Also Different
Match 3 games are dime a dozen. They generally have the same basic gameplay and that is to match three or more of the same images and achieve your specific goal for that level within the time frame or limited number of moves. What usually make these games different are their graphics and other twists that developers add to make them stand up from the rest. Hungry Babies Mania is familiar because it has the basic gameplay mentioned. It’s also different because while matching the images on the game window, you would also see one or more animals on top that would tell you what foods you need to match and how many. There’s animation as the animals are not just stagnant, but they are moving and it appears that they are eating the foods that you match and remove from the window.
Cute Graphics and Animation
This is a free to play game, although it comes with in-app purchase. It deserves a thumbs up on the graphics department because the images, especially the animals are really cute. The colors or vibrant and the adorable animals have this sweet smile. They are also not just static, as they move. The animation is a nice addition in this kind of game in which the animation effect can only usually be seen when matches are made on the game window. However, this one doesn’t really have a story line. So it’s just really about feeding the baby animals.
Hundreds of Puzzles to Solve
There are over 600 puzzles to solve in this game. That’s a lot of playing hours, which you would enjoy, since this is an addictive game. It also has a leaderboard, which would make you want to play more and do better as you would be competing with friends when it comes to your score and level.
The Ups
This game is familiar so you would know immediately how it’s played. Although it’s familiar, it still has that sense of freshness because of its different interface and animated animals. It’s also free and it’s fun to play.
The Downs
Unlike with some match 3 games that come with a storyline like Candy Crush, this app doesn’t have one.
The Verdict
Hungry Babies Mania may not have a storyline, but this is a minor drawback that doesn’t really much affect its likeability. It’s fun and enjoyable so it’s recommended that you give it a go.

No storyline? What would that mean?! Nothing much if you ask me! Match-3 games are boring enough and without additional perks to boost the fun, players are very likely to let go within their first few tries. It would have helped a lot if a trailer was posted alongside. Great review, keep it up!
