Though the sea have me heart, sometimes, I secretly wonder how it would feel like to go flying. I would like to experience to fly faster than that kid Peter Pan. My pet parrot and I will fly up high and check out forests and mountains for treasures. I found this game app called Jetpack Joyride and yo ho ho! It’s the next best thing to flying for real. I feel the adrenalin rush every time I would play the game.
The Game Play
Ye me matey, will play the role of Barry Steakfries. He stumbles on a secret laboratory and finds the jetpacks made by the evil scientists. He tries them on and aye, the adventure begins. The game play is really basic. Pressing on the screen will make your character ascend and letting go will make it descend. Control the direction where Barry flies to collect coins, power ups and spin token along the way while preventing various kinds of obstacles. Some of the obstacles that will try to take down Barry are bullets and electric wires. There is no time limit for this game and there’s only one stage. It will end when Barry is taken down by any of the obstacles.
Use the coins to purchase other kinds of jetpacks, outfits and gadgets that will make the game more exciting and fun. Other jetpacks that ye lads may purchase are fruit jetpack, laser jetpack and machine gun jetpack. The gadgets will help you get more coins or stay longer in the game. Some of them are gravity belt making it easier to land faster, gemology that can turn coins into gems and nerd repellent that makes the laboratory scientist free. The power ups will let you ride on one of the six cool vehicles that Barry can get throughout the game. If the vehicle crashes, ye character will go back to using its default jetpack.
Though there is only one stage to play, the missions, achievements and ranks make it more challenging. There are various missions ye buckos need to complete to increase ye rank. Some of them include reaching a given distance, riding a specific vehicle and collecting given number of coins. If you complete the mission, you will get stars needed for ranking up, as well as free coins. Like missions, there are various things you need to do to complete the achievements. This will not only give you extra rewards but it will also give you higher score for a chance to beat ye mateys on the leader board. In app purchase is also available if ye lads want to unlock gadgets, jetpacks and outfits earlier on the game.
The Good
The crisp graphics retina display of the game and the attention given to the details deserve 5 stars and a replica of the Jolly Roger. The various achievements and missions will keep ye buccaneers wanting to play the game more to complete them. The game play is basic and easy to learn that even younger lads will be able to enjoy it. Touch screen doesn’t miss a spot so it’s easier to control the character.
The Bad
Though Jetpack Joyride is generally a fun game, minor improvements could be done. Since ye will spend booties in purchasing new outfits, it would be better if they give additional skills or powers. Also, playing the game after a long period, especially after completing missions and achievements could make it boring. But nonetheless, it would take time to complete all of them so ye lads and lassies will have a great time playing this game for quite a while.
