Ahoy, me hearties! It’s me again, your favorite pirate app and I’m back for another game that ye can try on your gadgets.
Playing RPG set on dungeons is one of me favorite past time. Exploring the dark places of the castle and battling different enemies sound exciting to me. It gives me the same thrill that I get whenever I dive on sunken ships to hunt for treasures. Dungeon Hunter is one of me latest game finds.
The Game Play
Save the kingdom of Gothicus from the hands of the evil queen. And she is not just any evil queen; she is the wife of the hero of the game, which you will play. The king died and he will resurrect to stop the darkness that surrounds the castle and bring light and hope back to the people. Upon starting the game, you will be asked to choose your character. There are 3 classes to choose from, each having their own skills. They are the rogue class, knight class and the mage class. The rogue class is best for fighting one on one against the enemies. Because of his strength, he doesn’t need heavy armor to defend himself. The knight class uses sword as his weapon. He can take down enemies with his skills on handling these pointed blades. The mage class uses spells to fight against the enemies. He is best for long range fights but he is not that strong when hit by the enemies, so he gets high damage. Since it allows you to save a current game, you can try playing another character and go back to the saved game anytime you feel like it.
Explore the dungeons of the castles and kill the enemies that come your way. Different things will be dropped from the monsters you defeat. They can be useful to you so you may collect them and use them on your battle. You will also gain experience as you progress throughout the game. Strengthen your hero by adding your XP points to his different skills. For instance, you may increase the quickness of a rogue class after clearing a stage for it to move quicker. Aside from the missions you need to complete to move on to the next stage, there are side quests that will help you earn more XP, as well as weapons and potions that you can use during the game. These side quests are optional so it’s up to you if ye lads want to play them or not. I’m a true blooded pirate and I don’t take down any challenges that come my way. So I completed all missions and side quests, and took down the evil queen in the end.
You will not be alone in your quest to save the kingdom. There are 5 kinds of fairies that can help you overcome the obstacles that come your way. These fairies are not only cute, but they have their own set of powers that can aid in taking down the enemies. You can only use one fairy at a time but you can swap them anytime you want. The 5 fairies are the lightning, air, water, earth and fire fairy. The lightning fairy is the first fairy available on the first stage. It throws lightning bolts to add damage to the opponents. The air fairy is available on stage 3 and it can stop the enemies with its ability to create hurricane. The water fairy is available on stage 4 and it can slow down the enemies with its ice storm. The earth fairy is available on stage 6 and it can produce earthquake making the opponents stop for few seconds. The fire fairy is available on level 8 and it can damage opponents with its powerful attacks.
The Good
One of the good things about Dungeon Hunter is that it has several challenging stages that will keep you busy for a long period. The various side quests and missions to complete will not make you feel bored. The characters and the background have great details making ye lads feel like you’re really in dungeon fighting the enemies.
The Bad
The only thing that ye mateys may find negative about this game is its price. Unlike usual game apps that are often available below $1.00, this one costs $6.99. That’s a lot of booties especially for thrifty buccaneers out there. Aside from that, ye all will have a great time playing Dungeon Hunter.
