One of the games that I love playing on PlayStation is Skylanders. Me and my land buddies play it in their house whenever I visit them. That’s when I take my vacation from the ship. I would always miss playing it when I go back sailing and treasure hunting. But not anymore as it’s now available for iOS users like me. Skylanders Cloud Patrol is an addicting and enjoyable game that will keep ye all lads playing for hours. Avast ye. The Game Play
The trolls have escaped the Skylands. As a cloud patroller, your job is to take down all the trolls that escaped and bring back the peace to your land. There are more than 30 skylanders to choose from. You will be riding a gunship while looking for the trolls. Tap on a troll to shoot it. This will earn you some coins. Killing multiple enemies at once will give you a combo. This will earn you more coins than a regular shot. To do this, press on the first troll that you want to take down and drag to the next trolls that you want to kill. This will create a line, as if you were drawing and connecting all those trolls that you want to take down.
Doing a combo may earn you more coins but this will not always be easy. There are bombs that you need to avoid as hitting them will kill your character and end the game. This game has only one stage so your aim is to stay alive as long as you can to get high score. However, there are missions that you need to complete to level up on the game. This makes the game more challenging. Aside from coins, gems will also be given, which you can use for unlocking skylanders, as well as purchasing upgrades. These upgrades can make your skylander become more powerful and take down the enemies. In app purchase is also available if ye lads want to get several gems for unlocking the skylanders and upgrading early on the game. But it’s entirely up to ye buckos if ye want to spend booties for the gems or collect them by playing the game and manually get them.
Bring on your A game and show everyone what you’ve got by topping the leaderboards. As you all know me lads, I take my game apps seriously and I want to be the best player around. And this game is not an exception as I’m currently on top of the list.
The Good
The graphics and sound of the game are great. The background and characters are eye catching and the sound will make you enjoy the game even more. The missions, upgrades and skylanders to unlock make it challenging for a survival, never ending running type of game. The leaderboards also add up to the challenge and make you want to play the game again and try to beat the high scorers. Try a bit harder as ye lads will find it hard to beat my score. Owners of skylanders characters can use them on the game by entering their card code on the app. This doesn’t have extra cost so there’s no need to collect or purchase gems to unlock them.
The Bad
The 30 plus skylanders are cute and colorful. However, they do not have varying powers and skills. Changing from one skylander to another doesn’t really change the game play. They may look different from each other but they don’t have their own strengths and weaknesses.
