Yo, ho, ho, and a bottle of rum! Ahoy there me lads and lasses! We had a complete cleaning and makeover of the good old Jolly Roger. It deserves it as it’s our home and it’s keeping us safe and comfortable as we explore the seven seas. It was tiring but it was all worth it. The crew and I helped each other from cleaning to decorating. We couldn’t be more proud of our teamwork and of course, the result. Good thing that we buckos are all into organizing and decorating, so it was fun for everyone. Even in games, one of me favorite genres are those that involve organizing, like this one we have for our review. Avast ye and let me tell ye more about this app called Unpacking by Humble Games.
It’s relaxing and fun
As the title suggests, it’s an unpacking game, so you will be unpacking and organizing things in a new house. It’s fun because you get to decorate the house with the things in the boxes without the heavy lifting. It can also be relaxing and therapeutic, especially when you see the final result when everything is in place. However, this is not for everyone. You may not enjoy it if organizing things is not your cup of tea because this is what this game is all about.
It unravels a story without the need for dialogue
The developers are witty because you get to grasp the story of the character through its moves. You’ll see how it starts from the character’s years from when she was still studying to the part where she became a professional and had her own kid. There are no dialogues involved, but you could tell through the items and the caption on the photos on the last part of each level. Since you have the first person point of view, it’s like living the life of the character within those hours of playing the game.
It has incredible graphics with great attention to details
The game has lovely artwork, which will make you instantly fall in love with it. The details are also amazing as you can move the items in various areas, including the cabinets and under the bed or tables. It has everything you would expect to see in a house, such as items in the kitchen and bathroom.
It’s not free and there are eight house moves in total
The game is not free. You need to pay a little close to $9 as of this writing to download and play the game. Again, if you are into organizing games, the gameplay itself is worth it because you will get the experience that will even exceed your expectations. However, there are only a total of 8 house moves as of the moment, which feels short. If you continuously play the game, you will finish it in hours. So, it would be better if there are more house moves available.
The good
The game is relaxing and enjoyable. It has superb graphics with great attention to details. It has a story that unravels without the need for dialogues.
The bad
It comes with a price to download and play the game, but it feels short as there are only a total of eight house moves as of this writing.
The verdict
Unpacking is recommended if you don’t mind spending some money for a good organizing game with outstanding graphics and superb attention to detail. It’s truly enjoyable, although it could have been a lot better if it has more house moves as the game feels short with only eight house moves available.
