Adventure Island for Mario Review

Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum. When I was a little lad, I remember playing video games and one of me favorite was the game Mario. Aye, it’s a classic and glad I was able to find this game called Adventure Island for Mario. It reminded me so much of me childhood, although there were a few differences between this and the game I played before. The crew of the good old Jolly Roger loved it so I reckon ye buccaneers might like it too. Batten down the hatches and let’s start with the review.

It Would Bring You Back to Childhood

Adults who grew up watching the Mario Brothers series and playing Mario video games would feel nostalgic when they see Adventure Island for Mario. If you are one of them, you’ll remember the memories of your childhood and that alone would make this app a winner for you. It has the basic gameplay as the classic Mario game. Control Mario to reach the end of each level while avoiding various obstacles and villains. Collect coins and power ups along the way as well. There are also bricks that you could hit that would give you another life or would make you become bigger. Kids who haven’t heard about Mario would still find this enjoyable since it has fun graphics and the game itself is something that they would like.

It Has New Elements

Although it has the same gameplay like the classic Mario videogame, there are still new elements that were incorporated in this app. Since the setting is an island, Mario looks like a jungle man instead of the classic jumper that he wore in the old game. He’s still wearing a cap, but it’s colored blue and not red. The enemies are also different. Instead of mushrooms and turtles, you would face other characters like robots and scorpions.

It’s Still as Fun and Addicting

This game still gives the same fun and excitement as the classic game. While there are many modern and more complex games available, its simplicity is what makes it great. It would feel like you’re playing the old DOS games. It’s easy to play and at the same time, it’s still challenging enough to keep you playing for more.

The Good

This game brings memories from the past. It’s also easy and enjoyable to play, making it appropriate even for young kids who haven’t experience playing Mario games before.

The Bad

It’s not really a fresh idea as it was clearly based in the classic Mario game. There’s no native app available for iOS. It can only be downloaded on Android devices as of this writing.

The Verdict

Adventure Island for Mario may not be new idea when it comes to mobile games. However, it’s a fun and enjoyable classic game that would make you want to play it over and over again. That being said, there’s no reason why you wouldn’t download and install it on your device. Unless of course, you’re using an iOS device as this is only available for Android as of this moment.
