Yo, ho, ho, and a bottle of rum! Ahoy there me lads and lasses! Yer friendly app pirate is here again for another exciting adventure around the seven seas. We’re headed to this island that we haven’t been to before. We heard from the other pirates that it’s dangerous, but that didn’t scare us. It made us even more excited. Ye know us buckos don’t back down in any challenge. Har, har, har! While we’re on our way to that destination, I decided to give ye another app review. So batten down the hatches and let me tell ye more about Block Blast! by Hungry Studio.

It has simple but clean graphics

Block Blast Review

The game has no over the top graphics. It’s simple and straightforward. It’s all about blocks in this app, so that’s all you will see against the dark background, giving the different colors of blocks more attention. On top of the game window is the top score and your current score. In the middle is the main game area where you place the different blocks and at the bottom are the pieces of blocks that you will put in the game window. There’s nothing fancy, but it works well with the game since you can focus on the blocks and their placement.

It’s free and you can play it offline

Block Blast App

This game is free to download, and once installed, you can play offline. The ads are not intrusive at first, but they show up more frequently after some time. It can be frustrating because they are long advertisements that show up while in the middle of playing the game, and there’s no way to close them until they finish or you close the app and open again, which will prompt you to repeat the level if you are on the leveled mode.

It’s has two modes

You can choose between the classic and adventure mode, so you will not be bored playing just one mode. The classic mode lets you play as long as there’s free space in the game window, while the adventure mode gives you a specific score to achieve to move to a new level. It’s fun and challenging, and it will keep you occupied.

It’s the classic game you know

If you played or you are familiar with the classic tetris game, this is similar to that, so you’ll instantly understand the basic gameplay. The difference is that you can’t turn the blocks, which is usually available in classic tetris or block games. This makes the game more challenging.

The good

It’s free to download and you can play it offline. It has simple but clear images. It’s nostalgic as it’s similar to the classic and popular tetris game. There are two modes to choose from.

The bad

The ads can be annoying as they become more frequent at some point showing while in the middle of the game.

The verdict

We highly recommend Block Blast! for those looking for a fun and challenging game that could kill time. It’s free to download and you can play it offline, so you can take it with you anywhere and play anytime. It has simple graphics and basic gameplay that’s similar to the popular tetris game.
