Ahoy there me lads and lasses! We visited one of our landlubber friends since the crew and I had some free time. We spent a couple of days having fun on land. One of them had a store selling a variety of items, and since I also dreamed of owning and managing my own store when I was a little lad, I decided to help out for a few hours, and it was a great experience! We were short on time, so I had to go, but if only I had more time to spend, I could have helped out more. Although I only did it for a few hours, I missed doing it when we got back to the ship. Thankfully, there’s this shop simulator that lets me do that on my device. Batten down the hatches and let me tell you more about the game called City Shop Simulator by Ravedog Games.
It gives the real experience of running a shop

This is an excellent simulator for running a shop because it gives you the complete experience from a first person point of view. You get to do everything from ordering your stocks and displaying them to doing cashier work and processing payments. There’s a tutorial at the beginning of the game that shows you the basics of the overall gameplay, so you will not get lost and you could familiarize yourself with the controls, tasks and options more easily.
It’s free with no forced advertisements

You can download this game for free. It doesn’t have forced advertisements, so you can enjoy the game better. You can focus on the gameplay itself instead of being interrupted by advertisements, which is common in many free to play games. It comes with in-app purchases, but they are optional. You are not required to get them to keep playing.
It allows customization and there’s room for growth
You can customize the look of your store like changing its layout, floors and walls. It’s also satisfying and challenging at the same time how you start from a small shop with one type of product, and slowly adding more varieties and making the shop bigger. The growth that you see with your own eyes makes it more engaging as you want to play even more and do better to keep your shop growing.
It hangs and there’s more room for improvement
You may experience glitches in the game like the app hanging or some of the stocks or staff being stuck in one area. This could cause you to force close the app and re-open to continue playing, which is an inconvenience. There’s also more room for improvement like accepting cards on the payment instead of just cash, and having more varieties on the types of products to sell in the shop and other areas like a coffee shop or butcher department.
The good
It’s free and it has a realistic first person point of view of running a store. You can customize your store and there’s so many things to look forward to as it grows. It’s also engaging and there’s a tutorial so you’ll get easily familiar with the game. There are no forced advertisements either.
The bad
The app sometimes hangs and there are more room for improvement like variety in the store areas and types of products.
The verdict
We highly recommend City Shop Simulator for those who are into store simulator games. It’s one of the best free ones you will find as it gives you a detailed end to end experience of running a shop, from stocking your store to processing payments. It’s exciting and inspiring how you see your store grow from a small one to a bigger shop offering more products and serving customers. There’s a tutorial so you’ll easily learn the ins and outs, and it’s also free to download and play without forced advertisements.
