Ahoy there me buckos! Am about to jump on my ship and start another adventure at the sea. But afore that, let me tell ye about this app me lads that this pirate has been playing for the past days. Me and the buckos even created our clan and are out to take down all other buccaneers. Tis’ called Clash of Clans.

Clash of Clans by Supercell is available for free. In app purchases for gems, which are the premium currency, is available from $4.99 to $99.99. That’s from a pile of gems to a chest of gems. But purchasing these gems using real cash is optional as you can still play without spending any dollars.

Basics of the Game

This is a combat, city building and strategy game that you can play on a single player or multiplayer mode. Create your village and defend it from the enemies. Make your warriors stronger so you can take down other villages and be on top of the leaderboards. The single player mode is a campaign against the realm. The multi-player mode will let you fight against other players. You will be given a match, which is on the same level as you. Attack their village for a chance to win trophies.

The trophies will determine your standing on the leaderboards. You may also form a clan with other players and join forces to conquer the other clans. There are three currencies in the game. The gems, which are the premium currency, can be used to purchase other currencies, which are gold and elixir. Gems are also used to unlock levels, as well as speed up processes, like building units and upgrading buildings. Gold is used for fortifying the village, removing obstacles, getting decors and upgrading certain buildings. Elixir is used for upgrading other buildings, training your people and making resources building, in which your items are stored.

There are generally three types of buildings that you can have on your village. They are resources, army and defenses. Resources buildings are used for storing importanct resources including elixir and gold. The army buildings are for your troops, which include outposts and barracks. Defense buildings store things needed for defending your village. Place your buildings and troops strategically so they can defend your village when attacked by other clans.

Tips and Tricks

Conquering villages can be addicting, especially if you experienced victory the first or second time. However, before trying to take down stronger villages, you need to be ready. Upgrade your buildings and units to have a better chance of winning. It’s always best to be ready on your battles. A tip for this is to check on the environment of the other village before attacking them.

This way you can determine if you would like to proceed with the attack or not. If you wish to proceed, then you will have a good strategy on what units to use and where to bring them. You will not be able to control your unit after releasing them. However, they will attack first the structure that is closest to them.

The Verdict

This is an enjoyable game to play especially it allows interaction with others by creating clans. It also offers the option to play campaign or against other clans. It has high quality graphics and sounds, adding to a positive game experience. Clash of Clans is very addicting and enjoyable. If it be up to me, i’d be sailing the seven seas gunning to pillage and conquer nearby taverns and dusty villages. Oh wait, i am! Ahoy!
