So, we also keep sharpening our skills and we never go complacent to continue being the best in this craft. It’s important that our minds and eyes are sharp when it comes to even the tiniest clues that could lead us to the treasures. The puzzle games we play are fun and they help us achieve that. For today’s app review, this old salt will share one those games and it’s called Detective Files: Mystery Cases by SayGames Ltd. Batten down the hatches and let’s start.
It has cute artwork

The illustration gives you that detective story vibe, which is what you would expect with its title, so you will not be disappointed by that. You will be in detective mode the moment you start because even the map where it shows the levels is like a board where clues are pinned. But it’s still cute because of the cartoonish artwork. It has a clean interface where the clues are stated at the bottom with the characters to choose from in the middle and the scene on top. It’s also adorable how there’s confetti when you place a character on the right spot. There are just some struggles at times scrolling through the characters that make you accidentally put them in incorrect spots, costing you lives.
It’s fast paced with hundreds of levels

This is a fast-paced game that you can put down and pick-up any time. If you get bored playing long levels and prefer speedy levels, this one is for you. Of course, there are levels that may take longer to complete than others since they vary in difficulty, but still, they are doable and not as frustratingly impossible as others. There are also hundreds of levels that await you, so even if it’s fast-paced, you will still not easily run out of content to play.
It’s free but the ads are disruptive
It’s free to download and install this game. Although there are no annoying advertisements at the start of the game, they start to appear at some point and you get them after every level. Since the levels are short, it feels like you are getting the advertisements frequently and disrupts the flow of the game. There is an option to pay to remove the advertisements, but it’s costly. It’s $7.99 as of this writing.
It’s fun and it will make you think
It’s a fun game because of its artwork and it will also make you think as you try to understand the clues to determine the solution. It starts with easy and the levels get more challenging as you reach higher levels. But there are also levels that seem to repeat. Also, some of the clues are vague, so they really don’t help with the deduction.
Thumbs up
It’s free to download and it has adorable graphics. It lives up to its name as it gives a detective vibe from the moment you start it. The level of difficulty increases as you progress. It’s fun and it will make you think.
Thumbs down
There are disruptive advertisements at some point and removing them is costly. Some clues are vague and it’s also sometimes difficult to scroll through the characters.
The verdict
We recommend Detective Files: Mystery Cases if you are looking for a logic puzzle game that starts simple and gets more challenging, but still does not feel impossible to solve. It’s free and it has adorable artwork making it appropriate for children and adults. There are hundreds of fast-paced levels that will make you think and still enjoy as they are not impossible to solve.
