Avast ye me lads and lasses! Match 3 puzzle games have always been one of me favorites. Aye, they keep me occupied for a long time, especially while sailing to our next booty hunting spot. Speaking of these types of games, the next app review that this old salt will share with ye me hearties also fall under that category. It’s called Potion Pop. All hands hoay and let the review begin!
Adorable Graphics
Potion Pop is a winner when it comes to graphics. The colorful potions are just magical and pleasing to the eyes. The effects are also nice when you get to match the same colored potions. When moving on to the next level, you will see cute characters that add up to the charm of the game. The main menu where the levels can be seen is a magical world with castles. It’s in 3D and it’s cool how there’s dimension when you move in the said world.
The Usual Match 3 Puzzle Games
This app has over 200 levels to complete, which is a lot so if you’re into this type of game, you would enjoy the fact that you could play it for a long time. New levels are also being added so it might take time before you complete all levels. Higher levels are also challenging so even though it has the same gameplay, there would still be the excitement and challenge of completing them and moving forward in the game.
Although it’s a fun app, it works exactly just like what you would expect. This could have a good and bad side. The good thing about it is that it would be easy to learn how to play the game if you’re already familiar with how it works. Well, even if you haven’t played such game before, it still wouldn’t be difficult to learn as you simply have to match three or more of the same potions so they would be cleared. The challenge is that you have limited moves and each level has a different goal. It’s a lot like Candy Crush, although you just have to work with potions instead of candies. The bad side is that there’s nothing really new to expect that could make it better than other games, except of course of the graphics.
The Pros
The 3D magical world where the levels are shown and the colorful potions are eye catching. There are hundreds of levels to complete that would keep you occupied for a long time. Higher levels are also challenging as they are more difficult to complete.
The Cons
While enjoyable, it doesn’t really offer anything new compared to other match 3 puzzle games like the popular game Candy Crush. It also has in-app purchases, which might tempt you to spend cash if you can’t wait to continue playing and you run out of lives.
The Verdict
Potion Pop may have the same gameplay as the other match 3 games, but it works as designed. If you’re the type of person who enjoys playing games like these, then you should give it a try. It has several levels with the higher ones being very challenging that would keep you occupied. The colorful graphics also add to the fun.
