Aaarrr! Now this is me type of app. Har, har, har! Aye, Ruzzle tis’ called. This pirate does not just like rum, booties and sailin’, me also likey word games. I bet ye’all buckos will love this app as much as I do. And I declared that in the name of good, ol’ Calypso.
This app is from MAG Interactive. There is a free and premium version available. If you wish to play the game on practice mode to improve your skills, you can get the premium version for $2.99. Learn more about the app with this Ruzzle review.
Basic Game Play
Find as many words as you can to get a high score on the game. Find an opponent from your Ruzzle friends, Twitter friends or Facebook friends. Another option is let the app find you a random opponent from the other Ruzzle players. Internet connection is needed to play. The practice mode can be played offline. But as mentioned, this is only available for premium users. After selecting your opponent, you will be given two minutes to play the first round. Drag on the adjacent letters to form a word. Once done with the first round, your opponent will take his turn. There are three rounds to complete per game. Your total score will be computed to determine the winner.
Each letter has corresponding points. There are letters that are worth more points. You may find the letters DW, TW, DL and TL on the upper left corner of a word block. DW will double the value of the word that you made, while TW will triple its value. DL will double the value of the letter, while TL will triple its value. Global ranking is available on Ruzzle’s website. Score as high as you can to be on top. This game is available in different languages including English, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Swedish, Danish, Portuguese, Norwegian, German and French.
Spot the Words Fast
Since you are under time pressure, the anxiety may affect the game, so try to relax as much as possible. The game play is the same for every match. Find several words as fast as you can. The longer the better as they score higher. However, it does not offer any other modes or challenges to play. You might find it repetitive in the long run. But since you are competing with different players, it may still give you the thrill, especially if you are a real word game enthusiast.
Purchasing the premium version does not just let you play the practice mode; it also removes the ads on the game window. This is a one- time payment so if you hate seeing advertisements and you would like to practice your skills, paying for the app may be a good option. But this is totally optional, as you can still enjoy playing even with the free version
Verdict
This is a very addicting word game to play. It will not just exercise your eyes but your mind as well in finding words that you can use. Though the sound can add excitement to the game, you may want to turn it off if you would like to focus in finding more words.

I’ve heard ruzzle premium freezes up and wondering if this is accurate. Thinking about purchasing it but if this is correct I don’t want it.
