Today, let’s take a quick gander at a game that is one of the simplest titles I have ever come across with and yet I find myself terribly addicted to it. Wurdle, a game that I both love and hate for being so darn addictive.
Wurdle is a game of words that has a very simple objective as well as interface. The main goal of this game is to find words or a combination of them on the screen. In it, the letters are all jumbled so it takes a good eye to find characters to form words. Simple as it may seem, Wurdle can get hectic if your eyes aren’t sharp enough.
Pirate-tastic Features
On the surface, Wurdle may seem like your average word search game with the only difference being that it is a title for handheld devices. While that may be true in some aspects such as the core purpose of the game, there are also other features in it that make it stand out from the rest of word puzzle games. Why, you can even shake your device to toss the letters around if you can’t find any more words from the set that you have! That works well for me! I like to “shake” things around a lot! Get it? Har har har!
A fun feature of the game is that all the words you are able to find will be listed below the selection of letters. So, you won’t have a hard time figuring out which words you already have and what else is available for you to get. What also makes the game easy to play is that in order to find words, the only gesture you would need to do is swipe your finger. Now if I can only do the same thing when I need things to get done!
Game Play
There really isn’t much to the game play seeing as Wurdle is very simple. What you see is what you get. On the other hand, you won’t have very long to find words on the levels you play in. There is a time limit so you need to be quick with your eye and find as many words as possible.
What I hate the most with certain games is that there are rules that limit your movement and whatnot. Being an App Pirate and all, I am not one to follow rules! This is what makes Wurdle also stand out from other word search puzzle games. Instead of limiting your movements to the typical vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines, you can go every which way you please in order to form words. So, it will take you quite some time before you need to shake the puzzle since there are lots of possibilities in each one!
Final Judgement
Pirates love word puzzle games too, you know. It is just not that obvious since most of the titles released are boring and not fun to play. Ever since Wurdle came out, I find myself addicted to the game in an attempt to beat my own high scores and find as many words as possible.
Is the game worth the download? For $1.99, yes it is. You cannot believe the amount of fun you will be able to get when you play this game. A game that will not only test your keenness with finding words, it will also develop your vocabulary in terms of being able to form words that you did not know existed! I know I made the same discovery when I play Wurdle.
